In the Preface to this collection, the poet says “Season is another name for year in the same way that wind incarnates geography, turbulence or even quietude. Such contradiction is the joy of poetry, especially the type that deploys allusive and metaphoric sequences for significatory purposes. The celebration of life is the acknowledgement of death just as the arrest of time equally reflects the passage of seasons. Creation has a certain rhythm, as it turns on the axis of experience and reality. Creation is affirmation, not of transcendental knowledge, but of material life nourished by spiritual wealth. These poems affirm life in a process embodying the constant struggle between good and evil, progress and obscurantism, equity and injustice.”
