“From invisibility to invincibility, Mikateko takes us through
verses of despair, assault, discrimination, fear and hopelessness that
girls and women encountered in a system that does not serve their
interests to the life of purpose, power and freedom that girls and women
continue to wedge in the face of all odds. This is one anthology that
has the power to break and mend you. Mikateko has freed us all!” – Dr. Toyin Ajao (PhD), Researcher, Teacher and Storyteller

Review
“Reading Blooming Cactus is like holding up a mirror and
going through pages of myself. From childhood inherited traumas of
little girls, to black feminist tragedies. She writes about healing and
spirituality that transcends understanding. Mikateko has reached into
the trenches of black women’s souls and yanked out the truth,
Word-For-Word. Na khensa sesi for the offering.”

“Yes! Yes! Yes! I am sold, hook line and sinker. This anthology is
of inclusion and advocacy for women in light of obstacles, and I believe
every female will take away messages of strength and determination. It
will teach you to recognise opportunity, banish fear, and trust your
heart.”
