Mother’s Kitchen and Other Places is a collection of poems reflecting on life’s memorable moments from growing up in the intertwining entanglements of life in South Africa to a contemplation of emotions in love, memories, hardships of domestic violence and grief. It magnifies ordinary day to day trivial moments, captured in words, and seeks hope in elements of nature as the human life journeys through the human condition in search of purpose.

About the author
Antreka M. Tladi was born in Jane Furse, Limpopo, in 1989. He grew up in Phokwane, Brooklyn, where he received his primary and secondary education and currently lives. His poems have appeared in local and international anthologies and journals including the Avbob poetry project, The Calabash literary journal and the Otherwise Engaged Literature and Art journal. He was the third finalist in one of the Avbob poetry project national mini competitions. He was honoured with an African Authors’ Honoree Award in 2022.
