    The Caves of Nazimbuli

    The Caves of Nazimbuli is a retelling
    of a popular folkstory about two sisters who went in search of children
    hidden in magic pots by the spirits. Under the guidance the friendly
    creatures, one sister, who was polite, chooses a beautiful child for
    herself. The other, who was rude to the creatures, gets an ugly child as
    punishment. Both sisters return home to look after their new children.

    This book is the second in the series of popular folkstories retold by the author for the modern reader. The others are Operation Kalulu, Child of Clay, and The Bird Boy’s Song.

    Steve Chimombo

    Steve Chimombo was born and died in Zomba leaving his wife, daughter, two sons, and five grandchildren. He was educated in Malawi, Wales, England, and the United States of America. He held a doctorate from Columbia University New York, and an Honorary Fellowship in writing from Iowa University. He was Professor Emeritus in English at the University of Malawi. Chimombo was also poet, play write, short story writer, novelist, editor and literary critic.
