Floordogs
the evening, filled with breathable drops
and we, the two of us
in this lone partnership on this veering craft
helmless, stone-walled

opening our pores, shaking off the drops
and we are almost, almost able to look about
the way dogs who know each other simply look,

with a hind paw, lying on the floor, getting up
to be nearer to another dog, also lying on the floor
