Julius Bikoloni Sakala was born in 1933 at Pompe’s Village in Chief Lwembe’s area in the then Petauke District, now Nyimba District in the Eastern Province of Zambia. He obtained a Cambridge School Certificate at Munali Secondary School, Lusaka in 1955 and obtained his first degree from the University of London being a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours in Sociology.
