Mona Liban is a writer and editor hailing from her two homes of Hargeisa, Somaliland and Melbourne, Australia. She is the founder and director of arts centre EQRA in Hargeisa – an endeavour that combines her creative and entrepreneurial skills. Mona is currently working on a collection of short stories, inspired by the lives of the women of her family. She has had her writing published in African and Australian publications and in 2019 she served as writer in residence at Rhodes University, South Africa. An avid reader, writer and thinker, her writing often explores the intricate connections between womanhood, spirit and environment.
