Dr Nwachukwu Egbunike is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Media and Communication, Pan-Atlantic University, Lagos, Nigeria. His research agenda encompasses the intercessions of digital media with social movements, youth political participation, freedom of expression and digital authoritarianism. He was formerly Global Voices’ Regional Editor for Sub Saharan Africa. Egbunike is the author of these books: Dyed Thoughts: A Conversation in and from My Country (Ibadan: Feathers & Ink, 2012); Blazing Moon (Ibadan: Feathers & Ink, 2015); Hashtags: Social Media, Politics and Ethnicity in Nigeria (Lagos: Narrative Landscape Press, 2018); and Nka (Ibadan: Winepress, 2021). Digital Youth and Social Movements (Perspectives from Nigeria) is his fifth book.
