Stephen A. Mpashi

STEPHEN A. MPASHI was
born on 3rd December 1920 in Kasama and attended early education at
Kayambi Mission before training as a priest at Lubushi Seminary. The
white colonial authorities identified his writerly talents and sponsored
him to England for courses in creative writing at Exeter University.
Later he worked at the Ministry of Education for many years and later
became director of the Northern Rhodesia Publishing Bureau. He died in
1998 after penning more than seventeen books. His works especially this
book have attracted scholarly studies and are still in print.
